sorry.. your message doesn't make sense :)

a ford 9n, 2n, or 8n simply doesn't have sufficient pto hp to adequately run a 6' rough cut rotary cutter.. or lift it for that matter.

a 6' finish mower would be acceptable.

I reccomend you look into the 53-64 years if you NEED a 6' mower.

while a naa, or 6xx / 7xx / 2000 4 cyl WILL run a 6' mower.. I'd suggest a 8xx, 9xx / 4000 4 cyl. If diesel, it will be a 59 or newer, and if going diesel, I'd stick with the 8xx/9xx/4000 as it will have the easier to get part$ for 172ci engine.

given a choice of any of those model for mowing.. i'd go for a 4000 rowcrop with wide OR narrow front end. if you need to maneuver.. go narrow.. if maneuvering is not a big deal.. go wide.

the rowcrop gets you up higher to see better. I'd also reccomed a 5 speed model ( denoted by a *5* or *6* on the 55-62 models.. preferably the *6* dual clutch if possible.. and power steering. If you find a 4 cyl 000 model and it is 5spd with original trans.. it will be a dual clutch.

any of those of those should be able to be found in the 3000$ or less range, depending on local market...

if you have any questions, just post em.... i got a barn full of fords...

8n made it to 52.

bump to 53 and that gets you a NAA and WOULD work.

bump to late 54 and that gets you a 6-7-8-900 series.. and they FOR SURE will work.

what's 2 years?

in the prev post, the first 2 are my 63 4000 rowcrop with factory wide front with a 4 spd and combo sherman hi low tranny.. making it 12 forward gears and 3 reverse..

the last one is my 950 'essentially' the same chassie of the other rowcrop save the front pedistal..e tc. showing you a narrow front option. VERY NIMBLE.. that one has the 5spd tranny... same essential machine as a 7xx or 2000 rowcrop 4 cyl... except for the smaller 134ci engine..e tc..

these next pics show my 63 2000.. same essential chassie of a 6xx and similar to an 8xx, but without the hp. just showing you the difference in height. which may help you decide between an ag and a rowcrop for mowing..e tc..

i was going to suggest a 3 cyl as well.. but it appears he want's to stay as 'old' as possible.

though for sure that 8spd would be nicer for gear options..

What would be wrong with the 8n/9n and stepping down to a 5' cutter??
