"Trescrows, if DVD recorders go down to $175 in a year, believe me, you will get your money's worth out of the $275 difference in that time. I have a Panasonic E60s and its great. I've converted about 80 VHS videos so far, and have recorded about 40 movies off of TIVO. In fact we are watching one of them right now. It is GREAT!!!!!"
Alan, your logic is similar to that I usually use to convince my wife I need a new toy. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. So far this time she is holding resolute. I am still working on her. Of course, I could just go get it without her /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif but I find buying things like that much more fun when we do it together /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif.
Yes, in any case, I have a bunch of Lazer Discs and SVHS widescreen movies to convert to DVD. I fear my Lazer Disc player might give out on me or my SVHS player so I use them sparingly for now until I get the DVDR unit. I bought a DVD Sony two years ago and it recnetly went TU. I went and bought another one better than it, also a Sony, and it was half the cost of the first. More than the money I fear the first generation stuff may not be as good as what will come very soon. I hear the current Sony unit does not have the picture quality their standard players have--is this true--how is your picture quality etc. Alan? J
