napa oil filters

/ napa oil filters #21
I have a CK20HST, bought it last July have about 28 hours on it, not real happy with it right now, after an hour or so of use it won't even pull it self. I have changed the trans filter with a NAPA filter found the cross reference on another filter makers web site. NAPA filter was less than $11. On a dealers web site the original filter was over $48. Cut the filters in half see which is better. Think I'll stick to NAPA

have you taken this to your dealer? no since in selecting a screen name like yours if you haven't tried to have it fixed... warranty covers problems....

How did you get 28hrs if it won't pull itself? Not trying to be sarcastic but you give very little info about what is happening here. Please provide some details and we will gladly try and help.

Napa filters are made by Wix, and they are excellent filters, but only if they are right for the application. I have found out the hard way it doesn't pay to blindly trust cross references -- especially from third parties. I suggest getting the OEM filter specs and seeing if the Napa filter meets them in all respects. Do not assume you can go 'tighter' on the specs, either, especially with micron level. You may have pump cavitation as a result.

Added: From your post, I'm guessing you have a hydro. Check and see if there is a pick-up screen in the oil sump. Sounds like it may be clogging.

I have talked to the dealer about this problem, they are the ones who suggested changing the filter before I bring it to them, they also didnot have the filter I needed and I certainly was not going to pay $48. plus $9. shipping to order fron another dealer online

So have you changed the filter at all??

How far away is your dealer you purchased it from and does he have the filters on order?

Re-read your post... it says you have changed the filter?? Did it help? If not have you called your dealer about this?

Hello unhappy, sorry to be inqusitive, but where are you from and what dealer did you buy this ck20 from? Their are many trolls who frequent this chat room so its hard not to be skeptical when someone has 28 hours on a new machine and tries to trouble shoot the problem himself, and then comes to a chat room with no backround listed or a profile that bashes the tractor he just bought. There are many dealers here whod be happy to help you with a little more information..

This all sound unreal, first if i bought a tractor and had trouble I would take to a Dealer. I can't believe the dealer ask him to change the filter with only 28hr, and Napa do not cross that filter, so if you got napa filter on its problely wrong. I work for Napa 34 years they do not want to use a filter just because it fits

I have changed the trans filter, I live in Battle Ground, WA. I called the local dealer to see if they stocked the filters said they were out of them and would order some. Called them today asked if they had gotten any, there reply was I have no idea. Kind of frustrating dealing with someone that acts like you are bothering them because you want to give them your business. NAPA catalogs do not have a cross for the factory filter however Hastings does, crossed that to a Baldwin, Fram, and NAPA. As I said earlier this tractor runs fine for the first hour or two, then runs fine going down hill or on flat ground but won't go up a moderate incline after that. When it is cold it will go any where I want to go.

Hello unhappy, what is the name of your dealer? why didnt you bring the tractor back to the dealer after you changed the filter?

/ napa oil filters #34
Let me get this straight...You bought 2 NAPA's, cut one open along with the old Kioti filter for comparison, then put the other NAPA on the tractor. So your $11 filter cost $22. Even with cutting the thing open, there is still no way to know if the flow rate is more or less than the original without testing both filters head to head.
And you tractor still dosen't work,....... so let the DEALER fix it!

No I have not need to order one. Do these tractors come from the factory with hyd fluid in them or is installed by the dealer? Could it possibly be the wrong hyd fluid??????

Filled at factory, if you are having HST problems and a possible filter issue is suspected it would be advised to change the HST filter as the Trans filter may not make any improvements. However if you were my customer I would want to see your unit in order to check the charge pressure of your HST and see if it is within spec, but that is just how I would handle it.

Too bad you aren't my dealer as least you would ask to see the tractor instead of finding ways not to work on it.

Did I say I bought 2 filters? No!!! get down off your high horse and stop making assumpsions.

I was just wondering, now that you have changed the filter and I assume your still having the problem, what does the dealer say? I have around 30 hrs on my ck25 and I would be more than a little upset if my dealer didn't want to try to fix the problem? Hopefully it will work out for you.
