It was one day after my 16th birthday as birthday fell on a Sunday.

For me it was Grandma’s 4 door 1972 Buick Skylark with 350 ci motor…

My older cousin took me to DMV for my road test. It was a 2 dr. 55 Chevy 283 w/ 4 spd. Passed with flying colors.

In 1963, in my Dad's 1963 F250 4x4. 4 speed manual tranny...and the Pennsylvania State Trooper serving as the examiner was a short stubby guy who really had to stretch to get into the cab! Loved that truck...this is my graduation pic in 1964 next to the truck, wearing my National Honor Society colors.

Interesting of all the things I remember, I don't remember what car I tested in. It was Roseville Ca DMV in '79, so most likely was a '72 Plymouth Fury.

A 1982 Chevette! Parallel parking was a breeze! That was 1984.

The car was a 1957 blue and white Ford Ranch Wagon. It had no power steering and parallel parking was a bear. Anyhow I got my first license in 1962. It was kind of a rite of passage back then. Yes, at 79 I'm still driving but my current car has power steering.
