I've got an old plow at the ranch, can't identify the make or model. My grandfather always just called it the "chisel" plow, because it was what we used first of the plowing season before disking.

I've pulled it around a few times, and can raise and lower the right side with the big lever handle, and can raise and lower the left side the the cranking handle. However, it has some type of raising and lowering hub system on the left (inside of that big wheel with the angled teeth) that has a rope attached to a spring lever that I believe is supposed to partially raise and lower the "deep" plowing side with a yank of the rope to allow you to raise and lower from the tractor seat when coming in and out of rows on the field.

It seems to be partially frozen up, was wondering if anyone had any experience with these. Thanks!

What a coincidence!! This plow below popped up on my local cragislist today. The seller said it was a John Deere plow, but really it looks like it could be the same as yours though. Oh yeah, it's going for $450 if anyone's interested. I will have to pass!

Dad used to have one similar to that, called it a "one-way" in this area. Don't remember much about it as that was a long time ago! He didn't use it much, mostly used regular "mold-board" plows until we went to an off-set disk in the early 70's. ~~ grnspot110

Thanks everyone! I need to get some more pics and dig around for some hidden numbers. I'd like to get that raise/lower hub working. Seems that it should be a pretty low-tech straightforward thing to fix.
