Well, I can't cry over spilt milk. My fault I didn't post photos sooner. I enjoy working on things and it feels good to have hope. Eric thanks for continuing to help me, although I didn't give you enough info. Once I succeed with the transmission issue, I'll clean up the mess behind the fuel tank. At least the old parts on the tractor can be replaced.
A story:
A successful MD brought his expensive car to his mechanic for a repair. Since they were familiar, the mechanic asks, Doc how come with so many years of training and experience I have, I still don't make the big $ you do? Don't worry you will, once you are able to rebuild an engine with the engine running.

between naps I wired the two controllers. I turned on the key: FWD did not light up. REV lit up. I turned it all off for another day. I might figure out how to check the FWD controller, but a little enlightenment will go a long way through the process. Once I get FWD working, I will adjust them. I'm a wishing!

Both controllers turned on. It was too chilly to work any further. You folks way up North would crackup if I mentioned, how chilly. Anyway, tomorrow I will adjust them. I have a question: If I push the gear once and adjust #1, do I exit then come back on for two pushes on the gear for #2? Or do i just push the gear one more time after adjusting #1? and once again for #3? I feel I should turn it off then on again to do the next or each function.

You can adjust all functions without exiting. Just hit the button to exit after all settings are where you want them. You can scroll through them all after setting each to confirm that they're all correct, then hit the button to exit. And just making sure you have this right: each controller will only light up when the shuttle is shifted into the corresponding gear. They should both power down when the shuttle is in neutral, and only come on when the shuttle is shifted to the gear corresponding to that particular controller.

Yes, I understand the last three sentences of the above, however, I'm shaky on the first two. If I hit the gear say 3 times and it's ok, do I hit it one more time to bring me to item #4? Now suppose I make a change on three, do I hit it 4 times to bring me to #4? I just want to check this out and thank you for your patience. I may know some things, but overall, I know hardly anything!

Fred, to know which option you're adjusting, just have a peek at the top display on the controller. The number of the option you're currently adjusting is displayed there. Every time you hit the button it will advance one. When you reach #8, if you press it again, it will jump back to #1 and begin to count up again with every subsequent press of the button.

There's obviously something wrong in my 445C wiring, e.g., testing the input circuits, FWD and RVD I get 00.0. so, there's no battery voltage to the input, but the controllers light up in FWD or RVD. Power is coming from somewhere! I don't know enough to mess around with it.
I pulled down the fuse box and found three wires disconnected or hardly connected. Chapter 5 section D indicates 9 circuits. I've searched but cannot find a fuse box diagram so I can verify fuse sizes and maybe possible wire sizes. It there such a thing?

Originally, fuse #21 was the 5 amp ATC fuse that protected the transmission controller.

Where are you putting your meter's ground probe when attempting to check for power? Hopefully black wire at the controller? Positive probe is on the gray or brown wire, right? You mentioned being not great at electrical, so maybe we should start there.
