Mystery Switch

Between the headlight switch and the steering column of my B7300, there's a red rocker switch. It's not mentioned in the owner's manual. What does it do? Or maybe, since I tried flipping it but can't see any effect, what should it do?

Don't look factory. Going to have to trace the wires down.

Don't know, but I just installed one in the exact same location to run the lights I installed on my ROPS.

That is definitely an aftermarket switch. Perhaps a previous owner had some auxilary lighting?

To the OP, Anytime I sell a piece of equipment, be it tractor, or truck, I always install atleast one switch so the next owner can wonder...."Whats this mystery switch"...

Same here, I also make sure to run wires into an inaccessible area to add to the mystery.

These wires run backwards, down between the footrests and the mid-PTO. If the previous owner was trying to make it hard for me to find out where they went, this is exactly where he'd have run them.

I'm going with the rocket-launcher idea. Thanks, y'all!

When I sold my tractor, the mystery button still worked. I told the guy it was a "boost" swithc, like nitrous in a hot-rod. He was an old hot rodder... He got a laugh when he pushed the button to get some boost and got a claxon(ah-oogah) horn

AND ... route the end stipped back somewhere near the alternater, fuse box or headlight ...
