Smart idea!/w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif

I live in the city limits but do not have trash pickup so we have dumpsters in my neighborhood, which are indeed very handy to have.

When I move to the country later this year we will have no trash pickup so I will have to drive about five miles just to take off my trash. Maybe I should consider doing what you do so I can have my very own personal dumpster, too!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The dumpster has definately helped me keep my keep the accumilation of "stuff" at a controlable level.
I think /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif
I am forever bringing things home, that are just to good to throw away !!! I have been known (Honestly ) to bring home pickup loads of "stuff" /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif
And I find that by having the dumpster I tend to get rid of alot more "stuff" that has been sitting in a box, under the workbench, out in the shed for three years now.
/w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif I can't keep it all, God knows I try /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

They also make one with a grapple arm that picks up the garbage pails, and dumps them in... only one man running the truck, not two. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Are we talking models or the real thing? I have seen the real machines like you talk about as BFI use to run some like that. I just like to see models of real companies and when First Gear came out with the Waste Management truck I was wondering if there was a real company till I saw pics of their real trucks. It is kind of fun to collect models of equipment that is used in your area.

the bottom line is except the worst of snowy years the blade and bucket do just fine. Unfortunately, this is shaping up to be one of those years.

Ain't that the truth! 40" to date this winter in North East Mass! Everybody repeat after me, "I should have bought a snowblower"

Actually I'm in the process of building a front mount plow with power angle. Should speed things up for the 8" and less snow falls.

This is what we have in Wickenburg, AZ. It's a 90 gallon container, with once-a-week pickup. You can get a second container for a bit extra.

We have the "60" and "90" toters(trash cans with wheels). The truck like in the pictures comes along with a two yard box on the front. On the front of the box is a little hydraulic lift. The guy stops, gets out, rolls the toter up to the little lift and it dumps it in the 2 yard box. After several houses, he then dumps the two yard into the big truck. The two yard works pretty good for flinging in bagged stuff, too.
