Kama 454 w/Kokyer 195 loader
Yesterday I was using my KM454 for about 1.5 hrs moving snow. The snow was very wet, the first really wet snow this season. I began noticing red snow under and next to the rear tires. It looked almost like dyed fuel had been sprayed on the tires and was dripping off (except I don't use dyed fuel in the tractor). It continued to "wear" off for the entire 1.5 hrs of use. There is no visible "red" on the tires. Any thoughts as to what it might be? Just seems strange if its a coating that it can continue to come off for so long ... Scozz,

Have not seen this on the KAMAs before, but we had some Longs that wept brown/red stuff out from around the valve stems. It was greasy and I think was likely lubricant used to install the tires.

Chip its not coming from the stem but from the rubber itself.
It seems if I let the tractor sit idol for a while then moved it it would leave more behind then constant use ... sidewalls left more behind then the tread... Scozz

Scozz,

Are your rear tires filled? Could it be fluid leaking through the bead of the tires?

Golfgar4 ... tires are not filled.
Chip ... seems to be only the rear tires.

I'm sure you must have noticed the blue coating that takes a while to wear off of new car/truck tires. Temporary preservation coating, to slow down dry rot while in storage and/or transit. I'm guessing this is the same thing - Chinese style.

Not tractor related but I had a Mustang a while back with Pirelli tires on it. If I didn't scrub the tires once a week or so they would develop a brown/tan coating on the sidewalls. It came right off with a brush and didn't cause any apparent damage so I didn't worry about it. Only set of tires I ever had do that.

You didn't drive over a couple chipmunks, did you?
