Very nice indeed, Bob!

One question: on the first photo, is that your reflection in the window, or does this playhouse have its own ghost, too?

I built the playhouse of the burial ground of my old garden patch, which might have the ghost of some dead varmits buried deep down under the soil. That handsome image you see reflected in the window is far better looking than I am, so I think I'll stick with the theory that some dead garden intruder is haunting the playhouse and that would be the image you see.

Bob,

Nice job!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Your daughter may never really tell you this, but I'd be willing to bet that the little house will be one of her fondest memories because " my Daddy built it for me". /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Now the REAL question is, what are you planning on doing with it once your daughter out grows it? Going to become some kind of out building for your use? Could make a real nice "guys" hideaway, as long as the guys aren't too big! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

By the way, the exterior pictures were obviously taken long before the snow that now buries much of additional exterior work I did.

But since those pictures were taken, there was a front porch added to the playhouse as well as a narrow garden in front of the house. The garden is about 18" wide and actually runs around the perimeter of the play house. I used cement stepping stones, 6" by 18" as a border, they were recessed into the ground so I can simply mow around the house with the tractor without having to do any trimming with a weed wacker.

Also, and this is one of the best things about the project: I HAD A DARN GOOD EXCUSE TO BUY A BUNCH OF POWER TOOLS AND THE LOVELY WIFE COULD NOT ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT THAT BUDGET!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice playhouse! Very nice!

I would be afraid to build anything that nice. I may find myself spending the night in it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Say, you're not the Bob in that commercial, are you? Never mind. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

. . . did you ever think that maybe that IS the reason I built it so nice? Now I have a place to go. And if I ever spill diesel on my clothes (again), and they end up in the washing machine (again), and all my daughter's school uniforms are in that same wash load (again), and the whole load comes out of the washer stinking of diesel (again), and it is late Sunday evening after most of the stores in town are closed (again) then I will have somewhere to retreat to . . . NOT THAT THAT WOULD EVER HAPPEN (again) /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Around here, that wouldn't pass the building inspectors because it isn't handicap accessible, but they would tax you heavily for it. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Great job... now when are you going to be adding on the garage for the electric car that she will be needing to get around her palatial estate??? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

JUNKMAN . . . As for the TAX issue, apparently it is possible that I may be liable for property tax on the playhouse because it has an electrical hookup. We are not sure of that. I designed the hookup so it can be disconected from the outside by simply unplugging a HD plug that is in a weatherproof box. That makes the electrical connection temporary. One of the guys I work with told me to do it that way because he almost had to pay property tax on a shed that he had run electricity to . . . he had a HD receptical and Plug set up on the outside of the shed and they told him that made it exempt from property taxes???
