My snowplow adaptation

Got it painted and just finished reinstalling it.

The edge is 1-1/4 off the ground... we'll see how it goes. Maybe over the summer I will take the plow apart and have it blasted then paint it. I will also probably install the crossover relief at that time.

That tractor looks like it is set up for a loader. why didn't you simply attach the plow to the loader? Substantially simpler.

Well a couple reasons really...

Yes the tractor is "set up" for a fel, but it is in pieces. I bought it cheap a few years ago but it needed new pins/bushing and the hydraulic lines aren't in great shape. I haven't finished it yet.

I also didn't want the plow hanging out that far in front of the tractor. As it is right now when angled I have about 6" in front of the front tires. Being 2wd I had concerns with steering with plow angled. I believe this setup is also more maneuverable in tight areas.

The added weight out that far would also unload the rear axle even more, giving me less traction (again, 2wd).

I also don't like the idea of putting all that strain on the fel arms. Maybe it's unjustified concern, but is a concern nonetheless.
