There are a number of components like rotary cutter gearboxes (and probably PHD gearboxes) that no one in the US makes. So it's impossible to make some attachments entirely in the US.

Yep. And that's where those guidelines come into play.

IIRC, it's 51% of the cost of making it has to be in the US. Note that (IIRC) if they ship it COD (ie: buyer takes possession and pays for shipping when it hits the US), they can include the cost of shipping in the "US parts" percentage.

In looking at the Titan literature, I find it odd that their model line shows all 3 blade units for everything except that 84" model. They go up 1 foot in size and have to go from 3 to 6 blades? Makes me wonder if it was a typo.

I wonder if their 6 blade mower just had 2 blades stacked on each spindle? Can't find any info on anyone having one.

Still a pretty big deal to say Made in America and selling furrin made stuff in my book.

It is hard to believe the US and maybe all of North America has lost the ability to make gearboxes or really any other part. Realize there are many many reasons why something is made in a certain location with government regulations and wages being two of them.

If this thread to me proves anything it proves the need as consumer to post honest reviews on a company and their product. Regardless if they are pleased are such as this transaction. It also proves the need for the purchaser to be very diligent in our research. When I look at reviews the first ones I read are the negative ones. Realize some negatives are due to buyer's ignorance just read them carefully. The five star that brags on the item and then says, have not used it yet...oh well. Not criticizing the OP but the fact there are two Titan companies makes it some harder if you careful. For me, I still like to either already know the brand or be able to put my hand on it first. Saying that have bought used tractor and excavator sight unseen with great results and from companies like Surplus Center a variety of products with pleased results.

They are based out of Tennessee and have sold a lot of brush cutters in my area. They have took over the Howse market for lower cost option shredders than Bush Hog, Woods, Land Pride, etc...My cutter was manufactured in the plant in Tennessee with Chinese gearboxes like other manufacturers. It's been a good cutter thus far. You can get a 10 footer delivered for around $3700 in my area. Not as heavy IMHO as some others but heavy enough at around 1500#.

I ordered the Titan 1606 cutter with chains. The dealer I purchased from was piss poor to say the least. It was delivered with no tools to setup properly. Clutch guard was missing; 3-point clevis pins missing. Later as I was greasing zerks prior to first use, had a zerk fall out from being cross-threaded on tail wheel spindle. I learned my lesson as I was trying to save some money but wanted new so I'd have no issues out of the gate. Should have purchased Land Pride or Bush Hog from dealer where I purchased tractor and paid a little more. Dealer support for Titan has been an unpleasant experience. Won't buy another Titan Implement b/c of this.

Makes me wonder if it was a typo. Their web site chart is a cut and paste photo from their product brochure so if it is wrong in there, it will certainly be wrong on the web page. ...

I can't imagine it was designed with six tiny (16") blades and requiring 3 additional spindles. Slower blade tip speed and unnecessary cost for spindles and drive mechanisms. I say typo all the way.

I agree, they probably had 2 blades per spindle.
