Since this thread has been idle way to long I thought I would ask a question. On the NX top, to remove it do you remove the bolts facing down around the cab perimiter? What about the bolts on top of the cab? ...anything else? does it just lift off then? Thanks

Remove the six bolts on the underside to remove or loosen the top and pop the red, blend air nub off by slipping in a small adjustable wrench above and behind the red num and pulling straight down.

The bolts on the top of the cab top separate the cab top's inner lid from the cab top itself which is not needed to remove the cab top for access the HVAC system and roof wiring.

I never made a direct video but photos are buried somewhere in this thread in October of 2014.

Although not the subject of the video, the following video shows the underside of the cab top when it is removed.

When you upgraded your sound system did it make much difference in sound with the stock speakers? That is assuming you had the stock sound system to begin with.

I still have the stock speakers. I removed the top to replace it after hitting and damaging the original cab top on a birch tree. I did swap out the factory radio for a bluetooth radio.

I know that you put the Kenwood in....I was wondering about the sound quality....was it a lot better?
Most replace the entire system and no one really knows if the weak link was the speakers or the stereo...

reason I ask is I am doing a lot of light/camera type modifications also....I just replaced the speakers today.
the ones on the NX4510 are a joke....i put in some Pioneer 6.5" speakers...they have more bass BUT the sound
quality isn't a huge difference...so I'm thinking the weak link is the stereo output...

I remembered from a previous post that you hadn't changed the speakers but put a Kenwood in...so did it make much of an improvement?

I think that was Threepoint who installed the Kenwood Speakers as I remember he had asked about removing the cab top. I still have the stock speakers that for me are fine.

Here is what you can expect to see when you pop the cab top loose or off.

anyway, I thought you replaced your radio with the bluetooth one and had stock speakers...
what I wanted to know is was there much of a sound improvement with the higher quality radio....??? any difference at all...
were having a failure to communicate...lol

one thing for all the NX owners to watch out for...I received my 4510 a couple of weeks ago. The A/C only sorta worked. it would blow hot air and smother you. When you turned on the A/C and put it on cold only the rear right vent was partially cool and the others weren't as hot but still very warm (80 degrees)....the dealer was about to come over and said I would check things first...I finally decided it was in the mixture control so I popped it out and there is a small, thin (read easily bent) cable clamp that just inserts into the housing. It holds the cable sheathing in place to not let it move. on mine it was loose so when you turned the temp control to hot it shoves the cable out...no problem...turn it to cold and about half way it allowed the sheath to move with the cable so the temp stayed the same...
just had to pinch the clamp, by hand, onto the cable and reinsert it....worked perfectly...put a little adhesive on it to help prevent future problems...

+1 on Eric's advice on lifting the cab roof. I was able to block mine up enough to get access to install LED floods fore and aft, so did not remove it completely. But to replace the speakers, I think you'll need to. I kept the stock speakers, as I'm not much of an audiophile to begin with, let alone while running the tractor. I had earlier installed an inexpensive aftermarket radio/stereo with NOAA weather band reception (without opening the roof), and the sound is good enough for me. Amazon.com : Pyle PLMR19W Stereo Radio Headunit Receiver, Aux (3.5mm) MP3 Input, USB Flash & SD Card Readers, Remote Control, Weatherband, Single DIN (White) : Car Electronics Especially since I wear earplugs even with the cab. :) Amazon.com: Radians Custom Molded Earplugs (Red): Sports & Outdoors

Eric, listening to the weather tonight I heard that Minneapolis is expecting 8-12 in of snow tonight/tomorrow, and Nevis maybe 6 in.
