I am attaching a picture of my new ZTR.

I have 3 acres (+/-) of bumpy lawn at my farm. The lawn is relatively flat, but has a lot of trees. It has been taking me 3 hours + to mow with a 42" rear-engine Snapper. Although the Snapper has been relatively trouble free, I had grown weary of the time required to mow and the aches and pains that followed. Thus, my quest for a ZTR.

I decided that I wanted a 60" deck and a Kawasaki engine. That narrowed the field, but still left many choices. One of the local dealers offered me a good deal on a Bad Boy Outlaw (one of their mid-range commercial mowers) with a 61" deck and a 31 HP air-cooled Kawasaki.

I have used it only one time to mow, but reduced my mowing time to 2 hours and I didn't feel like I had been riding a mechanical bull the whole time. This was my first use of a ZTR and I am sure that an experienced operator would have reduced that time considerably.

My ambition is to become sufficiently proficient in operating the ZTR so that I can teach my wife to mow with it.:)

I have never heard of a Badboy, looks like a nice unit, and must be fast since they attached a air foil on the back :confused2:

I have a eXmark, and have for about 10 years, I used to mow with a Wheelhorse and 8N ford, took me between 12-14 hours to mow my 7 acres of lawn each week, the eXmark cut it down to about 3 - 4 hours depending on the direction I mow.

Love that dang machine!

I had not heard of Bad Boy until I saw one of their residential ZTRs at a Tractor Supply store a few months ago. According to their Web site, they have been around since 1998.

I was worried about the comments that the air foil would generate amongst my friends and neighbors. I haven't had the courage to obtain the advertised top speed of the mower (14 mph), but I doubt that the air foil does much to improve the handling at that speed.:)

Steve,I was considering getting a BadBoy with the cummins diesel but instead found a good used Grasshopper with a Kubota diesel.I think the BadBoys are real nice machines and you will love the ZTR,isn't that airfoil an add on?I saw it in their catalog and thought they were neat. russ

Apparently their current diesels are by CAT. I would like to have stepped up to a diesel but I wasn't willing to part with that much cash. I'm hoping my mower will last me many years.

I think the airfoil is standard on the Outlaw. I visited two dealers with Outlaws in stock and they all had the airfoil. It also shows up on the Outlaw picture on the Bad Boy Web site.

Some folks must really like to dress up their mowers. The Bad Boy catalog lists chrome wheel covers. Not to my taste, but to each his/her own.

Looks nice. I'm sure with time you'll cut your mowing time down even further.

Airfoil  I like it!

You know, it'll cut down on your smooth airflow and will probably hurt the down-pressure for increased traction at high speed, but it looks like it might be sturdy enough to mount a little 6 pack cooler on it and fill it with...Red Bull of course! :D

Nice . That is their new model. I got the Lightning kawasaki liquid cool last fall. I really love it. My son even volunteer to do the mowing now... :D.
I can't find my other pics of it, just the one with the Bobcat... Never heard of Badboy mowers before but thanks to the internet I found it...
I have the 2" receiver in the front and back that come handy with the trailer. I'm also planning to hook up LW blower on it to help for fall clean up :D

Have you tried to mulch leaves with your Lightning?

Bad Boy offers a mulching kit that takes about an hour to mount according to my dealer.

They also have an advanced chute system (Outlaw SERIES サ Options & Accessories | Bad Boy Mowers) that serves to block the discharge chute and is easy to mount. I'm thinking about buying that item and a set of gator blades to handle my leaves this fall. I've got large red and white oaks that produce a prodigious amount of leaves.

I have a mulching kit for my Snapper that is adequate for the job, but I would like to pass along the Snapper to my nephew if I don't need it for leaf mulching.

PS. BTW, nice looking mower and tractor.

Maybe, or Gatorade. I wouldn't want to risk operating the mower while consuming adult beverages.:)

Yes, I have the mulching kit and the advance chute system and love it. And my dealer throw in an extra set of mulching blades to sweetened the deal :D. I also upgraded the front tire to non-flat and suspension seat. The wing is also a gimme' as well as the 2" receiver tow... but he did not included the ball with it :D.
