Here is the Bush hog Razorback rz60 that I picked up a week or so ago.

Well used. And has the classic tears on the corner that this model suffer from while looking at google images of it. No idea what they did to tear the skids off. But that weakened the skirt to hit the blades. And one corner looks like it was caught on a ditch bank :-0 !!! The gear box oil looked just like oil not watery. Has some wear on it but hope it will turn out ok.

I am welding it back up. Have one side rebuilt as I type this and working on that bad side now.

I hope they paid you to haul that thing off. :) I'd enjoy pics of the finished product.

By the way, my wife and I were close to your area in July. Spent a few days in Oconee County and loved it.

will post from my phone. I will hopefully do better than the initial posting!! it was acting up that day which is why there is so many copies of the same one.

This in no show room fix either. This will make the thing functional!! Not pretty!

I haven't been able to load pictures in about a month now. Don't know why, but would like to see your progress. I love seeing people bring stuff back to life.

AaronS, what were you doing in Oconee? I live in Oconee. Beautiful area I gladly call home.

Yes beautiful to say the least. My wife and I were looking at homes around Lake Keowee and the surrounding area. Thinking of a possible move one of these days.

That looks like my kind of project. Heat and beat then paint to match. The previous owner must have run it with the skids dragging all the time to wear them completely away. I would likely cut off the thin sheet metal sides and replace with a piece of channel iron for some side wall strength.

I got all excited over a 6' cutter priced at $399 that looked pretty new, until I saw the rotary swirl in the top deck. At least yours doesn't seem to have that problem, and maybe yours still has a USA made gearbox?

I did not weld deeper skirts I just welded some angle iron onto the sides. It will ground out easier..but I really didnt notice it untll I welded one skid on and I just left it as is. I could of cheated the angle iron down a bit but I didnt. I didnt even heat it. I just patched it up and welded it back up with patches and called it good. It does have a minor swirl marks but it was cause the sides had no stability I believe. It looks like the original al box as well. I only painted my work as I may do more to it?? Its not perfect but serviceable.
