My New Kubota ZD1211 Mower

The SD Pilot did get covered with clippings.

I hate being limited to one direction with SD to keep clippings off of buildings & out of the road.

All of My Dang neighbors blow their clippings into the road : Burns Me Up !!!

You never realize how much being able cut on both sides of the mower reduces your mowing time, until you get a RD. I have my mower making beautiful stripes too, but I do cut at 4"

I’d buy a second ZD1211-72 SD IF I hadn’t just bought a new 15’ BH 2815 Cutter.

I mow Tons of Grass weekly here around the farm to keep varmits away.

I don’t take it as serious as the guy 20 miles South of me did a few years ago when He burnt his neighbors house down, for not keeping their yard mowed.

My 3pt Lift Type JD MX10 was taking way too long.
I kept it tho to mow a steep 700’ long bank & using the 2815 on the open fields.

Did you remove the rubber flaps and trim the center trans shield? Are you running Gator blades?

Not until I do a test run with for sure full throttle today.

:cool2::cool2::cool2: Discovered the problem with the windrowing of the ZD1211 RD and fixed it. Mowed grass for a bit that was to high and to wet. Waited an hour or so and mowed grass that was still to high but not wet. My grandson and I were using the F and the ZD and switched out and after mowing, no windrows and then after waiting a day still no windrows showing and then another day the grass is spread perfect on the yard!!!!! FULL THROTTLE on the ZD and about 90% on the F since it is under 10 hours use on it and when closer to 50 hours will bump it up to full. Have to go a little slower on the F with high grass and mulching kit and not doing full throttle but it spreads the clippings great. Entire yard looks wonderful today!!!!:cool2::cool2::cool2: FULL THROTTLE IS THE ANSWER and still with rubber across back and original blades, pure stock Kubota machine and deck, just full throttle solved the issue. Also grandson doesn't drive either one slow!

Coming from almost 60 years in the gas engine world I've had to adjust to the full throttle diesel mowers world for the last 12 to 15 years. The ZD is 40+ hours now so close enough for me to now do wide open throttle ito get the grass cutting results I want and expect from Kubota mower.

..........No, I just got the F and ZD and RTVx1140 this year, the ZD was used with 37 hours, so no not this year any more trading. This may be my last trading bout...........:laughing:

I’ve discovered mowing 90 degrees to the previous week helps windrowing a little bit.

I mow North & South one week then East & West the next.

In my bigger open areas, I have mowed at 45* in between weeks too here & there.

I don’t like the dead grass windrows from Heavy Thick Grass But I Love my ZD1211-72RD Machine

I to deviate my mowing pattern. I do across my yard and then from street to house and then diagonal from mailbox on front corner to burn pile toward opposite corner and then from drive way toward neighbors corner of his driveway. My grands on now helps and he wants to always do street to house so I have to jump on one mower and start the pattern for the mowing session and then get him sucked in to my pattern and I quit. I do around 3 precious to me 3 pre bearing pecan trees and sometimes the circle just goes out and out and out and out till I have a big circle and then I'm at the other pecan tree and start my circle and keep it up till I reach the beginning of my next circle and just drives my wife and grandson crazy when they see my three big circles. Got many trees but usually, usually I say only do the circle cut on the pecans, my precious pecans.:cool2:
My grand loved the F over the BX and I think he still does butttttt he may have a slight preferencefor the ZD over the F, he hesitates when I ask his preference. At a 14 year old wanting to drive boy the spinning ZD is quite an attraction and they both ride good so guess BX mowing is history for sure.

I'm planning on doing this shortly on my 72" side discharge. Still looking for the best blade.

Oil filter rubs against lower radiator hose.
Hose is wearing thin.

Would the Oregon G6 Mulching Gator Blades sling grass out a SD Deck OK if blade holders was converted to accept the smaller center hole RD blades ?

Also, are the RD & SD blades exactly the same length from tip to tip ?

.
