Good luck with your 25 Tim, you should find it very manuverable in the woods. You are right, it's much more fun and rewarding doing it yourself.

Now I need about 5 or 6 dump truck loads of fill dirt, all of which will have to be ferried into place with the tractor. I'm considering a bigger yard card for my garden tractor to hasten the dirt moving.

Man, that is going to take a while. I think a 5ft bucket can hold something like 9 cubic feet so if you get 6 dump truck loads (about 12 cubic yards/load) that gives you something in the order of 12x6x27=1944 cubic feet divided by 9 is about 216 bucket fulls if you are able to get and transport a full bucket each trip. 216 trips times how ever many minutes to do a round trip cycle.

That'll get you some seat time alright. How about a dump trailer for either a truck or even the tractor? That would at least cut the travel time.

Yep. It's gonna take a while. I just ordered a Country Manufacturing dump trailer that I can tow with my garden tractor. That should hold about a yard at a time. I'll have a helper driving the garden tractor while I ferry by the bucket load on the tractor. Terrain is not suitable for a truck, at least not for the first 2 or 3 dump truck loads (too steep). But, I'm not in a real hurry. I will be doing it one dump truck load at a time, most likely. The first couple of loads will only be moved about 60 feet or so. For that I'll just use the bucket. After that, I will have to put in a culvert pipe before adding more dirt. I'll post some pics of my current progress this weekend.
