Word is I get the tractor delivered tomorrow. The 3rd function has not arrived but they will come pick it back up and install while I am away at work next month.

Well tomorrow has came and gone and still no tractor! I did get by the dealership today and the guys were hard at work on it installing the options I had ordered. By days end they were pretty much done and just have to run the lines for my front mower, ballast the tires, wash the tractor and install the hitch on the tiller. One thing I didn't realize when I had ordered the rear defroster, was the 3 rear windows had to be changed and also the higher amp alternator installed. They had all that done by noon today, changed out the stock seat base with the air ride one, hyd top link on and had the extra cab lights installed. Got my first look at the actual tiller I am getting and man that thing is a beast! I will be using it first thing to tiller up some plots, hopefully tomorrow afternoon.

Good deal!

How well does it handle the Lane Shark?

Does awesome, cut more limbs back around a field and a road in a few hours of playing than I have done with pole saw all year long.

Humm, I may need to check into that. I know the previous discussions there were concerns about the 3rd function flow rate to run that. I have the factory 3rd function installed on mine. It looks like yours is some other make. I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in the previous posts.

HP

My 3rd function is not installed yet, it was late showing up so they will install it later. Since I had the single point loader attachment added we moved the original hose mount plate to the front of the loader so we could connect the Lane Shark and 3rd function hoses in separate points. Lane Shark does not recommend the 3rd function be used to run it since the instant on and instant off is not good on the motor. Mine has the pressure hose coming from one of the rear remotes and the return line goes directly to the sump. This allows slow run up and the it can coast to stop. Also their standard motor is 10 GPM but mine was upped to a 15 GPM motor since I have higher flow rates.

Great looking and then some. What size are your tires? The fronts look bigger than 9.5-24.

They are radials.

Radials will be excellent on that tractor and you now have something legendary. I've put them on tractors for years and they are impressive performers. There is a recent thread on adding them to my M7040. The fronts were not readily available and won't come in until fall. While Firestone 9.5 x 24R's are widely available in Europe and Canada, not so in the US and the only ones I could fine were BKT from India. From what I've read, they will be fine. I looked and yours are highly regarded. Are the rears the same brand and did you have much trouble getting them through Kubota? Do you happen to recall the extra cost?

Not sure if you have used them before but I keep mine overinflated for the first winter kust to make sure everything stays seated. Maybe 15-18 psi. Then it's back to 7 to 9 depending on use. It's like adding 15 or more HP to the M7040 and yet you can float over wet area or resist compaction easily. Wise move for you to get radials.

Yes the rears are the same brand. I really like them and you can easily see how much more ground contact they have than basis tires. Radials and cast rears were $1800 more than stock setup. Dealer had no problem getting them. We speced it out and they ordered the tractor from Kubota in GA and it was there a week later.

Supply hose connects to one rear remote. Return hose goes to sump. The rear remote level does the start/stop

A SCV valve?? Not sure I understand what keeps the rear remote valve in operation? You have to hold the lever or "strap" it into pressure position? Thanks for your patience!!!!

Very good catch. That explains availability and those are excellent tires.
For the amount paid, he got a great price on the cast centers and radial tires.

Here is a snip from your picture that shows they are 12.4R20 or metric 320/85R20:
