Eddie, that would have been so much easier and cleaner but there is a Fir beam in that room and the thought of covering it up never occurred to me. It is one of those things about having a custom look that I knew my wife was in love with.
But it is a total pain in the backside.

I really admire your attention to detail and how hard you are working.

In the video, are those two small rooms a closet and a bathroom? Why didn't you make one of those rooms have an 8 foot ceiling and create an attic space to run everything through instead of going to all that effort to run all your lines through those studs?
Yeah I did that in a couple places in my house and it made running utilities a heckuva lot easier. Also tiny rooms with tall ceilings feel like empty elevator shafts so dropping the ceilings helps make them more of a human scale in proportions and feels more "comfortable".

I understand. You have to stay true with the design, no matter how much effort it takes. It's only time!! :)

I dropped another video this morning. Hoping to be done with vent plumbing this weekend. Not my favorite thing.

Your lumber miter saw cuts that pvc pipe real clean.

So I'll throw out a suggestion -- plan your HVAC install so you have the ability to run minimal heat or AC as you get into the drywall and finishing stage. It will help dry things out, de-humidify, and allow stable conditions for finishing and trim work. In our climate, you'll avoid a variety of issues if you can do this.

One of the worst things I saw happened at a friend's house up in Nellysford, not far from you -- they had just put in trimwork and then we got a rainy humid spell in November and everything started going whacky -- cracks in the drywall, doors swelling and jamming, trim splitting, damp odors, etc. If you can get the interior of the home close to the final conditions you'll be living in before drywall and trim, and keep it dry, it will really help.

We keep chugging along on the build. I had to go to Lowe’s tonight to pick up some more sanitary T’s but tomorrow we will be done with the vent plumbing. To say that I am thrilled is an understatement.
Being the big spender that I am, I took Jefanna to the Chick-fil-a drive-thru for dinner. I look forward to getting back to the pex and then the electrical.
I dropped this video today.

Make sure drywall screws don't puncture your plumbing!
