Eddie, how long does it take for gate to open. The mighty mules tend to go real slow. Painstaking slow. Also, what brand unit is it?

Eddie, I put my front gate up and put the outside panel behind the posted sign on the gate post. No one can see it. Only friends with codes. And they have to get out of the auto. I purchased but did not install the auto opener on the inside. I store hay to one side of the gate and I have to go by there to get the hay. My tractor would be opening the gate too many times.
I have another gate to my pasture. It is great. I don't have to get off the tractor to put out hay. It has a lock on it, that keeps the animals from pushing it open, It unlocks with the auto gate. I plan on putting up another one later for a gate to the lake.
Also with the name Ed, I have horses and kids call me Mr. Ed.

I don't have a pic but my Uncle years ago had a gate that hung low at the latch end, high at the hinge end. Had a push bar latch activator in the middle of the gate. Linkage connected it to the latch mechanism. Drive up to the gate and bump it with the tractor and it unlatched and swung open. Drive thru. Gravity swung the gate shut and the latch caught it. Worked from either direction. Very, very cool setup for haying his cattle.

i think you’re referring to a bump gate. A ranch i worked at years ago had that...and painted grates on ground to discourage critter traffic. It worked great.

I've driven over several "cattle guards" on paved roads in the back country of Colorado. Free range areas. Hard to get thru those areas without getting cow poo all over your Jeep though. :)

It starts out pretty fast, but just when there is almost enough room to get past it, it slows down to a crawl. I can push the button in my truck to open the gate when I'm still out in the street, so it's usually open, or almost open by the time I get to it. But I do have to wait a couple seconds when I leave.

It's called the E8 and it's sold through JSJ Protech here in the US. If you look on Youtube, look for E8 openers. I found a few videos in Australia, but not much here in the US.

The other two lights for the new columns arrived today. It only took a few minutes to install them, and I'm very happy with the results. These are true LED lights with the LED's built into the roof of the light.

Have you figured out where it's made? They don't say on the web site.

I assume China, but I never looked

That's a really nice entry, one idbe jealous of driving by. It's funny but owning land, I find myself envious of the roads, fencing and gated entries I pass when out and about.

Our new place in the Hill Country has a pretty nice entrance but the opener was removed long ago. I've got an Apollo opener to install, just haven't gotten to it yet. Priorities have been fencing pasties so we can move animals and house renovations so we can move us.

South end of our farm borders a State Hiway. East side of our farm at that end has a gravel road T'ing the Hiway. The gravel road is all on our property as it was added later. I found some really big red rocks on our property and dug them out. The largest required a bull dozer to move. I placed these rocks on each side of the gravel road at the T. If giving directions to the farm I often say "you know where the big red rocks are?" Most people say "oh yeah". Turn there. :)

I'm the same way. I love seeing a unique entrance. I still want something over the top for my entrance, and maybe one day I'll get around to it, but after saying this for ten years, it was time to actually do something!!!

I like it.

It looks great Eddie. Very nice work!

Eddie,
I can see that your entrance is understated. That, just based on all your other, over the top projects!
hugs, Brandi

Your entrance is MUCH fancier than mine Eddie. LOOKS GREAT!

We went round and round on spending the money for a fancy setup but at the end of the day I couldn't justify it for our scruffy looking entrance. I just put a couple of 10' farm gates and used horse fencing. We planted Confederate Jasmin along the fence so one day it will be covered in blooming vines.

Gee, im not sure your allowed to say confederate anymore....

They will come and protest in front of your house. Sad thing, its probably true
