That is beautiful. I have no "use" for one but I would love to own one. Quick dumby questions.... does this and all AR15s shoot 223 or some goofy 5.56xxx ammo? What did that gun cost? I love how short it is and of course the obvious utility.

I was like you but today there is a nice slection of good hunting rounds like the 6.8 and .458 socom. Do a quick search online for more info.

Sunspot, Spike's lowers rocks, looing good.

Congrats on the Ar.
Not familiar with the spike or POF. I've got a Bushmaster & a Stag.

The 5.56 is the NATO metric equivalent of the .223 cal, but shoots at higher pressure. 55K - 60K cup vs the 45K - 50K on the .223.
All the 5.56 rated guns will shoot .223 but not the other way around.

the Wolf ammo is good for plinking but has a higher sulfur content, will need to clean to gun more often. Just bought a "few" hundred rds last week.

With a good break-in, it should last you a very long time.

Congrats on your first AR. You'll find it a great platform which to build on if interested, and a good weapon with iron sights.

I'm curious as to what meets your criteria for a "goofy" round?

Welcome to the evil club of assault weapon owners;)

That looks like a nice setup. I have POF 308 lower sitting in my safe. I bought it before things went nuts on pricing. Let me know how you like your piston upper. I'll probably buy a POF 308 upper one of these days.

I also have a RRA predator pursuit AR-15 and an Armalite AR-10. I really love the AR-10.

Very nice peice. I have never herd of them before either. I have a DPMS Panther Race Gun and it is a lot of fun.

I don't do a lot of plinking as it is expensive and I reload all my ammo. So I leave the plinking to the .22's at about $15 a brick

Highbeam. My setup uses 5.56, some people call them poodle shooters. It's carbine length or 16" barrel without the flashhider. My wonderful state of Alabama does not allow a Short Barrel Rifle (SBR). I've thinking of building a 7" AR-15 pistol that is legal here.

Sigarms. I seem to remember that your pictures of the Sig 556 is what made me want a black rifle now but I've wanted one for years.

Spike's is most known for their .22 conversions and they have a good reputation on AR15.com. The whole lower only cost me $450 and delivered in less than 4 weeks.:D
