Now that is real class, did you do the upkeep or restoration?

That is a great car. I used to shuffle the BMC's between dealerships when I was in high school. I drove them on weekends as part of my "benefits". Of my favorites, that is number two, the Austin Healy 3000 being the car I wish I had, just can't afford one for what they sell for now. I still have the OEM balancing meter for the twin carbs, BTW. Did you ever drive the MGC? For all around reliability, speed and fun, the B was definitely the winner. The Midgets and Sprites were too small and underpowered. I remember as a child riding in the original Mini Cooper with my parents. I saw the new BMW replica on the expressway this week and felt like a kid again. You have a great car there!

I try to do all the work myself, that's the great thing about this car. The '67 has no emission plumbing so engine work isn't a problem. Parts are readily available and relatively inexpensive to boot.

I hate to say it here, but it is more fun to drive than the JD /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Great looking car!/w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

My brother, who lives in Washington, D.C., bought one that looked just like yours, except it was "British Racing Green". This would've been around '71 or '72.

He bought it new, and as he was leaving the dealer lot, he got creamed by a guy who blew a stop sign!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif I think he figured he had put 120' on the car!

I saw pictures of the car, and it was totaled! But my brother wanted his MGB, and by golly, he wanted that one! So, he had it rebuilt. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif He kept it for about 2 weeks after he got it back from being rebuilt and then got rid of it because, according to him, every day it developed another new squeak or rattle.

I'm sure you'll have much better luck with yours - just stay away from those dealers lots!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
