Here is the little project we did two weekends ago, a paver sidewalk I would not have wanted to do it without the BX24! Here are the pics:

The BX did a great job digging the hole, bringing and rough spreading the 6" of aggregate base, then the 1" of sand.

I am just about finished screening all the removed top soil of the rocks, but that is another pictorial.

That looks fantastic!

It looks like a toothbar might be in your future :D
Were you able to use the FEL to remove some of that dirt, or was that all backhoe?

A lot of it was with the loader, but a tooth bar would have made it almost all of it.

Nice job!

Looks like that BX24 is a really good fit for your property too!

We have just over 2 acres total which seems like a perfect fit for the BX24. Many lanscaping projects and not enough time.

naa, but thanks for the offer.

I would not want to lay pavers for a living, I was beat after that weekend.

Very nice job, nice pics and nice looking BX. A great tool to get alot of work done that we otherwise would leave alone.

Man, what a timely inspiration! I just bought a low hours BX23 last week for precisely this project, as well as a few others. My toothbar is on order...

My first job with my BX24-if everything works out and I get it-will be a walkway as well. A toothbar is a well-worth-it investment for such a product? The walkway will be 4 feet wide and about 45 feet long.

Sounds good. You will like it for sure. Be sure to show us some before and after pics. :)

45 feet of walk way is a lot. Mine was 8 feet wide at the fence gate (6X6) posts in the picture and if I remember right, 26 feet on the outside curve.

45 feet is just the first stretch to do. :( After that, I have to add a tributary, but that'll be only another 15 feet or so. I've never put in a walkway, so I hope I can handle it!

It was not too difficult for the paver walk I did. Are you pouring concrete or doing pavers?

/ My BX24 weekend project #16
Originally we were going to do pavers. Now my wife is talking about stamped concrete, which probably isn't all that different as far as the method of laying it. It won't be poured concrete regardless of what we do. That actually saddens me, since I was looking for an excuse to get a 3pt cement mixer for my Wheel Horse tractors. :D

Rayco, You can handle 45 ft. My first ever sidewalk last summer was 160 ft. long, 44 inches wide, running bond with a soldier course. Second walk: 45 ft. long 60 inches wide, herringbone pattern with a 12 ft circle. 4,500 bricks total. Also threw in a little patio. Now you know what I did on my Summer vacation! Pictures are attached I hope. BTW, wish one of you guys would teach me how to shrink these picture files.

I don't know how your taking your pictures, (camera, phone, etc), but on my camera there is a menu option for the size of the picture file. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in. I think some of the photobucket type sites also have resizing options. Good luck, and great work on the walk, fountain, etc.

If you are running windows, you need to go to this microsoft site and download a program that will enable you to easily do that. You will find it on the right side of the screen and near the bottom of the page. You will have to scroll down to find it. It is called Imageresizer.exe.
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

Select "Run" when the dialog box pops up. Install the program. Then after it is installed, simply right-click on any picture or group of pictures and select "resize pictures". 600x800 works pretty well for on screen stuff. It will keep the original size of your picture and create a new file with the old file name but with the word medium (or large or small) added. For example, if your photo was picture.jpg, it would make a new picture named picture (medium).jpg.

Hope that helps.

Wow, great looking walkways. The one by the pond should give lots of enjoyment, I want to sit in the chair with a cold drink in my hand. :) The easiest way I have found to do smaller pictures is to set my camera at it's lowest pixel setting.
