I purchased the B7500 about 6 weeks ago. I am a 1st time tractor owner and did much of my research from this site.
I'm by no means an expert, but hopefully this information will add to your own research.

I purchased the B7500DT 4WD with the 272 Loader. I chose the gear drive because I like the old way of changing the gears my self. I have abot 5 acres that I am eventually going to clear and plant fruit trees.

I shopped at several local tractor dealers around in my area. The B7500DT was consistantly priced in the range of mid 11,500+/- with 272 loader. I also added the optional Grill guard.
I found it very informative to visit the dealerships, look overs the sales floor and service areas, and meet some of the people. As a customer, I looked for knowledgable people that were willing to help me get the right equipment, courteous customer service, and good service dept.

It took me a while to find a B7500 that I could see, but once I did, it basically sold itself to me. It was just the size I was looking for.

It took approx 6 week to arrive, but one nice feature delivered with mine was fold down ROPs. Not sure if that is std or not, but sure is nice when it has to go into the Barn.

I am very impressed with the B7500, so far I have about 20hrs on it. It is an exceptional machine.
It has excellent pulling power. I purchased a 5ft box scraper for it and it has no trouble pulling it, within a reasonable depth of course. The box scraper is approx 400lbs (noticed that when I had to unload it from the pickup) and the 3pt hitch had no trouble lifting it out of the way even after loaded up with dirt. I have also pulled out small tree brush by the roots using a trailer hitch and tow chain.
Power steering is very smooth and makes the tractor very easy to control. I was also impressed with the very tight turning radius it has.
Changing gears is no problem.
Front loader has excellent lifting capability. Very strong, no hesitation.
The 20HP Diesel engine is amazing. Even under load, this engine does not seem to labor, it goes!
I have found the tractor to be very comfortable to use and handle. I really like the easy to use controls.
One last item that might be of interest, It seems to be a real mizer on fuel.
Finally gotta add this important tip,
Being a 1st time owner, and never really ever driving a tractor before, I took plenty of time to read thru the manuals to better understand my tractor. Definately any new tractor owner should understand all the safety precautions and components of their tractor. Keep safe, have more fun.

My conclusion, this is an impressive machine that can really do a lot of work. It's making my work a lot more fun!

That fold down ROPS will also come in handy when those fruit trees start growing. The Feds do recognize that some times ROPS and seatbelts do interfere with safe and efficient operation, as noted in http://www.osha-slc.gov/OshStd_data/1928_0051.html, ROPS exceptions, Article (b)(5)(i), orchard use. And remember, when the ROPS are not in use, don't use the seatbelt (and of course, visa-versa). Happy tractoring.

Good Post Keith,

Always nice to be able to read someones review of a new tractor. I thought my Kubota manuals were well written for a new user. They were illustrated well for those that had not done their own maintenance before, and had good recommendations for implement size.

Keith - my B1700 is for all intents and purposes a similar machine to your 7500, so we should have similar experiences. Some problems that I noted with my machine that I would like to offer as potential advice:
1) My throtle was very stiff to operate. If yours is, there is an excellent post in the archives on how to fix it.
2) Is your rear wheel width adjustable? Mine is, and I found that the flanges that hold the rear wheel to the axle tended to loosen up with time, so get a wrench on the cam bolts every now and again while the machine is breaking in.
3) Speaking of breakin, I did my first oil and filter change at 25 hours, and then again at the recommended 50. Probably just **** on my part, but 25 hours took me 3 months to reach, and I am an every 3 month kind of guy.
4) Mine developed a leak in the loader joystick box, the only warranty claim I have had. Most likely just a fluke with my machine, but thought I would mention it in case Kubota has had a chronic problem in that area.
After 175 hours I share your enthusiasm for this little tractor. Does everything I ask of it, and a hell of a lot of fun to boot!
Stay safe - everything else is secondary.

Thanks Paul for the suggestions. I'll definatly keep watch of those items. On my throttle, there is the hand operated one on the column. I basically set that to normal type of idle. There is another throttle on the floor which I typically use when working and need more rpm. I'm not sure if the B1700 is the same on that or not.

Once again, the feedback and information on this site is super.

Keith,

Always interesting how different we use our tractors. This is the first one I ever owned a tractor that had a foot throttle. I usually set the hand throttle to PTO speed and go use the tractor for several hours before ever cutting the throttle back down to an idle before getting off of it. I use the foot throttle right after I start it to back out of the barn until I hook the tractor up to an implement.

I have about 30 hours on my 7500DT. So far I love it. They really are fuel misers. Mostly I pull a 5' finish mower, but I have done some disking and back scraping with it. Maybe I'll get some snow (grin) this winter.
I don't think changing the oil at 25 is a bad idea. I bought the oil and filter for mine already and will change it the next weekend that comes around that I can. What can it hurt.

just purchased a B7500DT, 60" front snowblower, LA302 FEL, 60" belly mower, R4 tires - to be
delivered in two weeks. Had originally looked at BX2710 (too expensive) and BX2200 (tad bit too
small) - dealer talked me into the B7500. Cost was $17,000 plus tax.

Went with the gear because it was about $1,800 less. Dealer explained that using gear vs.
hydrostate will mean that the PTO's stop when the clutch is engaged. I doubt that will cause
much problem.

Just curious how all of you with B7500's have fared in terms of being happy with what it
can do, ease of operation, quality of equipment (repairs). I'll mainly use mine for snow removal
(upstate NY) and mowing (5-6 acres).

Guess I'm looking for confirmation that I made a good buy; first tractor I've had.
