My 4x4 articulating 23hp tractor and cab project

Thanks again for the positive feedback. I am the first to say none of my projects are even close to perfect. I do all the work in my little shop with my crude tools, no friends with fab shops . I do every project from start to finish by myself. The static models were fun but the half scale working tractors are much more fun. The duel wheels are attached with long 1/2 inch bolts between the rims and a 3 inch steel ring spacer in between . The little 4x4 tractor is not getting much use, I have a mini loader, a walk behind plow , a truck plow and a jd 455 with a 47 in two stage snowblower. We have now received over 130 inches of snow this winter so the blades are about done pushing the snow . The blower is going to have to be used as i am running out of room to stack the snow in my yard.

This week I did extend the front blade on the mini 4x4 tractor by 10 inches so it would clear the outside duels when plowing snow . The extensions just bolt on so they can be removed.

Here is the finished painted bolt on extensions. Far from perfect but it should work much better at full angle.

Worry not about JD, they have no legal ground to come after you. If you were making them for profit, that's a different story. This is no different than you painting a picture of a JD tractor. Awesome Job! I wouldn't be surprised if JD wanted to compensate you for that work of art and take it off your hands for shows. That level of craftsmanship deserves to be on display for all to see! Nice Job

Looks like a lot of fun. Very nice job. Any video of it operating would be great...especially the articulated aspect. It would seem a likely new product for Deere etc: a better combination of a CUT and a Zero Turn: you could have your front snowblower, your mower deck, rototiller and your plow all PTO driven to the front. If you were really clever you could hang your backhoe on the front too(not sure what you would call it then ) You could still have all your usual rear end three point hitch items too. I always thought that a zero-turn was a professional lawn mowers wet dream and that attempting to market it as a tractor too was wishful thinking by the manufacturers...

Thanks again, this is a one of a kind mini 4x4 articulating tractor . No plans to ever make another one in any color. If you type in wwwdoncampbellequipment on you-tube there are a couple videos of me driving it. I hope to make another video of it plowing deep snow soon. I have bought ten brand new John Deeres myself over the years. I love John Deeres since being a young boy on the farm . They still use the jd 530 and the jd 4010 on the farm after all these years. Now they have four newer fancy John Deeres they use.

Wow, I'm very impressed. the detail is incredible. So glad you shared it with us. Wish I lived , would love to see it at a farm show or a parade . Sometimes you have to build things from the heart not just what makes sense, without concern of what others might think. I commend you sir on a great build and the fun it brings you

thanks , I have always loved going to the steel store. I would always drool over all the racks of different shapes and sizes of steel. I have bought over 75 full sheets of sheet metal over the years. Not to mention a lot of angle iron , flat bars , steel tubing, etc. I usually but 5 to 8 sheets at a time. Several more inches of snow again this morning and it is still snowing , >) We will for sure hit 200 inches this winter. Were over 130 inches now.
