Bought a mx5100 last year and so far it works great. This year I need to find the largest cutter that the mx5100 can safely pull. Looking at 10' cutters but curious if that is to big of a cutter. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

I would say a 10ft is to much for your tractor. I would say a 6ft would be a good fit 7ft would be pushing it. For the 10ft you would need a bigger tractor

Appreciate the feedback. I currently have the mx5100 but losing the hay lease we have had i now need to keep up about 300 acres and was hoping i wouldn't have to upgrade the tractor. What size tractor would you recommend for a 15' batwing cutter, Just curious because it appears I need more tractor to keep up about 300 acres.

look at the min pto hp requirement of your selected implement, I'd add 5 hp, then look at the specs of the M series models. Probably 85 0r 9540 at least. wouldn't want to tackle 300 acres with an mx unless you have plenty of time to spare. a 15' spread is a lot to pull in addition to the pto hp requirement. good luck bb

Good time to look for an older 100 plus horsepower tractor.
