A friend of mine just bought a Mx5000 and does not have the manual yet.
He's having trouble with the three pt. hitch raising. He's added 2 gallon of hydraulic oil and still doesn't see it in the site glass. How much oil does it take? His trouble started after removing the FEL. He never lost any oil, but now the three point hitch won't raise.

There should be a valve near the hydraulic oil filter he must turn 90 degrees when he removes the loader control valve. see the attached picture. The slot in the valve shown between the two hoses needs to be in the vertical position when using the loader controls and turn to horizontal with the loader control removed.
As to the sight glass, he is probably overfilling as the oil is clear... have him park the rear tires on blocks to raise the rear of the tractor, I bet he will eventually get it high enough to finally see the oil level... KennyV.
BTW a gallon or so too much is no problem, much more than that could cause foaming in the transmission...

Thanks Kenny. I'll have him try that.
