My best recent purchase was a 3K pound capacity aluminum floor jack to supplement my heavy steel one. Easy to roll around and pumps up quicker.

Don't forget Quality jack stands and to use them! The best equipped shop in the world won't help much if you get squished.

LOL, I need/want every trade tool out there.
That's why my shop is too small.

Serious side, I hate renting/borrowing and if at the right price (I flea market and garage sale a lot) I buy!
Hence I do have a VERY capable DIY shop.

Owning a tractor I have many welding and mechanical tools. With woodworking I am also well equipped/
From an aviation background I also possess many precision tools.
AND very few would I sell as for sure tomorrow I'd need it.

I also like auctions and so far have made out very well.
But the secret is to really know the market value of any item be it new or used.
I've seen bidders pay more than retail for auction items.
