I've got an MT372. I had been using it all summer with no problems. It then sat for several months under cover. Recently I started it with no problems but as I started driving gear lube started flowing out of the rubber boot on the shift lever. I pulled the filler plug out (while running) and it came shooting out of that hole too. So clearly the gear case is building up pressure for some reason. Any thoughts? I was running a brush hog at the time, and had put on ag tires from turf, which is the only change I'd made recently. It seem this must have a vent in it somewhere that is plugged...but where?

Has it been rained on? Could have water in the case.

Thank for the Idea. It hasn't been in the rain. It gets parked under a metal shed which stays dry (even in Oregon winter). The gear oil looks good...not cloudy or gray like it is contaminated with water.
