It's a dial type switch on the MT. I'll check the backside of that to make sure something didn't come loose. It would seem like the most obvious culprit.

any luck?

Well, it looks like the starter is bad!? Was able to spin the pinion, but not acuate it? Seems strange for a starter to go out with only 119 hrs.

We've had such bad weather I didn't want to deal with it in the rain. I called the dealer and am waiting back to hear from them. I'll keep you updated.

Sooo, per description to dealer, he thinks it may be the starter. Got the OK from him to pull starter w/o voiding warranty. Took starter to Parts store, but they're having problems cross referencing the starter #s so they can bench test it. They don't have any Yanmar part #s. I'm in the city......

Was at Orielly's, Costless, and tomorrow I'll try NAPA. Below are pics of the starter.

Nope, Battery was 12.6v

Who's you dealer? BTW don't rely on what your multimeter says about your battery. Have it load tested at an auto parts store. Or Hook the meter up and turn the key and see if it holds above 10.5 VDC.

thanks for that info, think I'll give that a shot as well.

Ernst irrigation in St Paul Oregon is the closest that actually looks like a viable going concern.

Joel Naumann (Service Manager at Ernst)is good people. I bought my XR4155HC from him.

They have a pretty good parts selection too-not surprised that you couldn’t source the starter at a local auto parts place-one if the bigger NAPA warehouse stores might be a better bet.
