Has anyone figured out how to pin the favorites bar on to left side of screen like it was in all the other versions? I can move it there but it won't stay.

The nice thing about pinning Favorites in IE9 is that you can click them in succession, the list does not disappear.

That part I got, but no way to minimize OR have the icon in your favorites bar. You only have to star to add to favorites bar. I liked to old way better where when you hit on favorites you could either add to favorites or to the favorites bar. That's where my problem is, trying to set up that way.

Not sure what it is that you are trying to do, but it sounds like what happens if you click on the Favorites item in the Menu Bar. if that is not visible, hit

ALT + V
T

to show your menu bar.

Or, you could also click on the down arrow next to Add to Favorites as shown in the image.
