mPower 75p battery case open

Still getting to know my new Mahindra. I noticed that the battery case is open (from top of battery) on back side facing the rear tire and it looks like the place where the fenders usually collect a lot of mud and muck. Before I got slogging big bales in the muddy lot I wanted to see if anyone had found an easy, durable solution to keeping mud and muck from being thrown in ontop of the battery? Thanks.
