Mowing Radius For a B7800 w/ 60\"mmm

I am making progress on a pretty major landscaping job at my house involving putting in a large area of grass. I intend to outline around trees and other obstacles that will need to be mowed around with bark or some other material to make mowing easier. My question is for mowing with a B7800 with the 60"mmm deck what would the ideal radius be for circles or arches? When I was mowing my in-laws lawn I cut as tight a circle as I could and it looked to be about eight feet in diameter when I stepped it off. I imagine though that I probably want to make the radius a little larger than four feet to keep the tires from tearing the grass so much and to not make the turn so critical. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Matt

I have a B2910 but don't have a mower deck. Tractor is the same size. I would guess 8' would be about right, but that is just a guess. I know that mowing speed is usually determined more by the manuverablility of the tractor than by the ground speed of the tractor, so if you want to get the mowing jobs done quickly then you should cut a wide berth and make the radius as wide as will look good so you don't have to do extra manuvers with the tractor. I put in an area with about 10 trees & bushes last fall. My wife wants to cut around each one (which is what we are doing now) but my intent is to make a large kidney shaped bed around the lot of them and eliminate a lot of mowing grief. I mow that area with my NH TC24D, which is 1 frame size smaller than the B7800/B2910, and it is a pain to get up close and personal to each tree/bush.

Matt

Here is a thread on cut radiuses.

It references a B2910 with a 72" mower and others.

With a 72" mower it's 83".

The 60" should be 95".
