Tractor
kubota L4400
I just bought a new tractor and was interested in trying to get some mowing work. I have had two people interest in me mowing their property but have no clue how much to charge. They were both 5 acre lots. If anybody has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Also if anybody has any ideas on how to find mowing jobs it would be greatly appreciated. I live west of fort worth, texas in weatherford.

Around here, a good rate is $50 hr, but that's for a mower/bushhog combo, not sure what you have or what you're mowing.

I bush hog and aerate occassionally, with a TC35/5' howse/woods plug aerator, for my vet doctor's horse pastures for $35/hr. That $35 usually runs as a credit for all my vet bills. My vet lives next door. If I had to trailer and mow on a regular basis for customers, I would not pull out of my driveway for less than $50/hr. Hope you find some good customers and make some money with your tractor.

Do good work and the work will find you. Word of mouth is a powerful thing! Here in FL, I charge $50 to $60 for an acre, providing it has been maintained in the past. If not and it's really bad, I would pass on it and find better accounts that won't beat you and your mower up.

Good Luck in your new venture!
