Mower Enagement RPM

Skimming through the manuals for my GC2400 and the 60" mower deck, nothing is stated regarding at what engine RPM is recommended when engaging the lower PTO. Once engaged, I do increase the RPM to the "green" zone when cutting grass.
What are your "best practices"?

I like to be above idle by a few hundred rpm’s and then once engaged throttle up.

I start my 2326 60" at approx 1500rpm.
I mow at approx 2200 rpm, this works for ME in MY situation, saves me little bit of fuel (prob 3 gallons a season) and still plenty of torque.
this most likely will not work for most others.

I engage PTO just above idle and ramp it up to 540 PTO speed marker.

The lower the engagement rpm, the easier it is on the implement driveline.

I engage at idle then throttle up to PTO speed.

Same -- pull back to idle, engage, raise RPM. I mow at somewhere between 1800 and 2000+.
