Hey Hans, Moss and anyone else who can help

Well sorry to beat this to death - I know it has been talked about in other posts - but I searched all over and can't seem to find a match for the PT 60 inch standard deck blade -

I found many sights and also went to a local supplier - it appears to be a universal blade that they use - I asked them - no help - they said - well they are just " regular blades"

This is the measurement I have - length 20 & 1/2
(this is end to end - tip to tip is slightly larger but not much)
Width 2 & 1/4
Thickness .159
Center Hole 3/8
looks like they only use the center hole - no lock on the center blade - must be a safety thing for the hydro motor

Well - I can not locate this blade - also the blade has a tapered profile (it is not straight across) but I think I could use a straight blade since I added all kinds of adjustment height of cut capability

- I was hoping to locate high lift, mulch and standard lift varieties - so far I found the no cut no lift one ie nothing

Help!

I ordered an extra set of blades directly from Power Trac when I ordered the whole package. I'm very happy with the cut they provide. I will be putting them on soon, sharpening the original ones, oiling them up and putting them in a bag for next year. I've never had to sharpen during the year, as I only mow one acre, once a week. Sorry I can't help. Maybe Hans can, since he uses his to make $$$. I'll be watching this post...

Last May, PTRich reported using generic $6 blades from Home Depot, that he ground a bit off to make them fit. Look at thread on PT Attachments

If anyone can match the blades to another machine, you can order on line web page

the pt finish mower blades are standard generic blades. due to my experience with this particular mower, i would not suggest to get a much heavier blade, but the same dimensions, close to the same shape since lift does not do much in a rear discharge mode, preferably same hole pattern.

if you have to reduce them in any shape, make sure that the blade/blades are all balanced. these ball bearings can't take too much abuse.

good luck

Hans - I don't plan on changing them at all - I am just trying to find the exact match - so there is no extra stress on the bearings - are you getting 300 hrs out of the bearings? - I greased them last summer every 8hrs - I just greased them yesterday and they really took a lot before I could see the grease express - just wondering how difficult are the bearings to replace when the time comes - and how expensive

- and no luck to date on finding an exact blade match - What do you use ? - I suspect you must go through them quickly
I will check PT pricing - but I expect they will sell a $10 blade for $25 knowing their pricing on parts - The reason for the high lift is because I have attached a vacuum unit to the machine - and I need the lift to assist in vacuum action

I'll take some photos and post when I get a chance - I am also fitting the 1845 with a similar vacuum exept it will be fully mounted on the 1845 since it can handle the weight

I bought that Lastec contour mower from PT that they were using as a demo for the 1845 - really pricey but what nice deck - really nice - can't wait to use it

Well I put my foot in my mouth - the cost for the PT blade from them is $12.90 - not bad - they only have the one type though - low lift
