You can get this stuff at TSC called MowDeck spray.

It supposedly helps the grass clippings not stick to the underside of the deck.

I have a ZForce 50 and use it to cut my lawn and about 3 acres of pasture area.

I had a heck of a time with build up when mowing the pasture.

Well, the problem is gone.

I cleaned the deck really good and sprayed this on there as the directions indicated.

I could not believe how much it helped. It really worked as advertised, which is saying a lot these days.

When I got done mowing the pasture I expected to see the deck plugged up like before, but there was almost no build up at all. I was shocked that something that sounds so 'gimmicky' actually worked well.

We'll see how it works over time, but my initial experience is really good and this stuff helps a ton.

Just wanted to let everyone know that may benefit.

I use that stuff too. Amazing how well it worked on my push mower. I had to recoat a few times a mowing season, but once I put that first coat on it made it a lot easier to clean.

Hope it works well on my Cub's deck too--just put it on last Sunday. I have the same problem with my 1-1/4 acre area that used to be used as a horse pasture. Never had a problem in the yard though?

Hmm, sounds like a good reason to make another trip to TSC. :) What department did they have it in? With the mower repair parts?

Sorry, yes, Tractor Supply Co.

They have it at the store I go to in the mower blade, oil and maintenance parts area.

I don't have any trouble on the yard but the weeds in the pasture really clog it up.

I have let it go and had some 4-5 foot weeds in there that I mowed yesterday - but I used my Dad's John Deere with a rotary cutter.

Now that was fun!!!

I didn't want to put the poor ZForce through that but now that it is down I will maintain it with the Cub.

Heh. I should have figured that one out :)

I don't have one of those around here (at least I don't think so, in Northern Virginia) but I can always mail order.

By rotary mower do you mean 'flail' mower? I love those things.

When I was a teen, I used to keep our 21 acre fields mowed with one of those on the back of a Massey-Ferguson with a 40 hp Perkins Diesel. I LOVED that tractor. I preferred it over all of the Ford 3000's and 5000's we had on the farm.

I can't seem to find it on their web site. Can someone fiind it and get me a link?

Thanks :)

EDIT: Never mind. I found it on the manufacturers web site (MDI) and have two cans coming!

Provided this is the same stuff slappie bought, it looks like it's available direct.

MDI Products :: MO-DECK

Ha! Looks like you were quicker on your edit than I am. ;)

Gotta try this stuff for myself. Cleaned the deck twice so far this season, pain in the butt.

I bought a can to try. Hope it works! Some people on the MTF forum don't have anything good to say about it though. We'll see.

My 7HP Husqvarna Push Mower mows everything from the usually damp back yard to the inside of the dog run. If this stuff is gonna work, this will surely be a good test for it!

Well, I used the 2550 today with the mower deck treated for the first time with Mo Deck.

The grass was longer than I like it to get (due to a few days of rain) and it was typical early spring grass.

As of now, I would have to say that I think the Mo Deck did help keep the deck cleaner with less grass accumulations. Nothing dramatic though. There still was some accumulations, but they seemed less than before treatment.

I'll use it for a while and then clean the deck and put another treatment on. According to the directions on the can, subsequent treatments reduce accumulations and make cleaning easier.

I really hope it works as good for ya'll as it did for me.

Mowed again yesterday and there was definitely less accumulation.

I'm gonna keep using it and see if it really does make more of a difference over time.

I had been meaning to get some of this for a while now. I have a terrible problem with grass clippings sticking to the deck of my 48" mmm on my bx 1500. After every cutting, I had to scrape shovels-full of grass off the underside of the deck-a real pain. After seeing this most recent thread, I finally made a trip to TSC and bought the last two cans on the shelf. I removed the mmm and scraped the deck as best I could without tearing up the paint too much, then I put almost the whole can of Mo-Deck on it. That was about a week ago. Yesterday was the first time I mowed with the bx1500 since then. I cut for over an hour. Now, it has been dry around here lately, but even so, I was shocked when I rolled the tractor up on the ramps and crawled underneath to clean the deck. There was almost no buildup of clippings! I was pleasantly surprised and will be applying another coat of mo-deck when the mmm comes off for 300 hr service soon (currently at 295).

I agree that, at least for me, this stuff works!

Pam cooking oil will do a better job, and is much cheaper

After nearly a full season of use with the Mo Deck spray, I have to say that overall, and despite my initial impressions, I am disappointed in how it performs. I don't believe it kept the underside of the deck any cleaner than it would have been without treating it with the Mo Deck.

Hope others have better experience with it.

I'm sorry to say that I have to agree. My experience has been the same as yours. I guess what I thought was improvement initially was just very dry grass.
