moving picture ads

This is a internet question that has nothing to do with tractors except that I use the internet to get to this web site. If it's too far off topic then I ask the moderators to delete it.

Is there any way to disable those ads that flash and move around all the time? Yahoo has one on their home page right now. I've already turned off "Play animations" in my browser and that didn't help.
