Kubota L4400-1 HST
After looking on the forums and around I finally bit the bullet and got my L4400. I only have a few hours on it and will post pic later. But one of the many things I wanted to do with the tractor is be able to move our horse trailer out of the overhang because it is much easier to manuver the tractor vs a 4 door long bed F250. I am planning on buying the 3pt trailer movers (have not decided which one yet) and my question is, the trailer weighs about 6000 lbs (3 horse slant with 10' living quarters) not loaded. It probably has about a 1200lb tongue (in the bed) weight. On my F250 it is almost on the overload springs on the truck so 1200lbs is probably a bit over estimated. The length of the trailer is about 35 feet nose to tail. And it is a gooseneck. I will only be pulling it out of the barn overhang and putting it back in everything else will be with the truck.

Will the tractor lift the trailer without lifing the tires?

If I do try it the first time I will know if it is to heavy if the front gets light.

What are your thoughts?

When in one of the barns I use an attachment I made for my forklifts to move GN trailers. Outside and off concrete areas I use the hitch I put on my loader bucket. As long as you don't get in a hurry and leave your landing gear down I don't think you'll have a problem. Here is just something I did. Maybe it will give you some ideas. It works for me. The last picture is what I made to clamp on the forks of my forklifts. I didn't want to burn a hole in the forks like I've seen people do.

I almost forgot. It's not as convenient using the 3 pt. hitch, but it's certainly easier than using your truck; at least in my opinion. Here is what I built to use if I have to do the 3 pt. hitch method in the 5th picture.

If you get a 3 pt hitch like Dargo has (pic) that should work fine for moving your trailer just put some counterweight in your loader bucket.
