I'm new to the forum as well as Kubota ownership, so please bear with me. I've done the searches on tire discussion and found a great deal of useful information, but.......... I'm still unsure what tread design in on my B7500. I'm assuming they're an Ag tire, but I can't be sure, so I've posted a pic.

My tractor will be primarily use as a mower (3.5 of my 7 acres). Will these tires suit my needs?

That, my friend, is an R4 industrial tire...the "compromise" between a full R1 Agricultural tire and a turf tire.

The theory is that these will provide a smoother ride than an R1, won't tear up your lawn as much as an R1, but will provide more "ground engaging traction" than a turf tire.

This is a subject of much debate, but in the case of mowing 3.5 acres, these tires should be absolutely perfect for your application.

In my yard, I'm manicuring 1 acre that is very "close", so I can tell immediately if I've spun a wheel or where I've driven my ATV. My cousin mows 5 acres and, while his lawn is nice, it is just a little different than mine. He could mow his with an R1 fitted machine and it would be just fine...just a different setting.

Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for your insight! Without a little guidance I probably would have fallen prey to making a $900 mistake by going to a turf tire/wheel combo.

Welcome to TBN!!

Agreed, it is an R4 tire... and should do perfectly in your application.

If you have 4wd and turn extremely tightly then you may have some disruption of the turf if it is very soft ground... you will learn and can avoid this with a little care.

Net.. no need to get different tires:)

R4 is a good tire to mow with, I have only have damaged the lawn when I do something stupid, or its real soft. I actually do more damage with my rider spinning the turf tires when the grass is a little damp than I do with the R4's on the Kubota

Do the R4's require new rims if the tractor was originally equipped with Turf tires? I know the regular Ag's will fit turf rims, not sure about the R4's. My turf tires are starting to appear fairly useless on my hilly property.
