Tractor
John Deere 5103
I am going to buy a new John Deere cab tractor. Based on the size of the implements that I want to buy I have almost decided to buy a JD 6115D.
I was also considering the 5095M. Before I make my final decision I want to get some opinions and advise from some people that have some experience and / or knowledge of these tractors.
I definitely want to buy something in this size range.

What are the pros and cons of these tractors?

Which one should I buy and why?

Is there another model that I should consider?

Opinions and advice would be appreciated, and thanks.

Both units are a decent tractor. The D series is a basic design tractor and the m series is a premium tractor. The D is obviously a larger tractor, both units use a wet clutch, the M will have more transmission options, the D will lose some Goodies like e pto, eh controlled pto, etc. If you are ok with the basic 9x3 tranny w/ reverser that the D has and need a unit in this chassis I would look at the D series a little harder but am not sure what you are doing with the unit. Fully ballasted D vs fully ballasted M the D will probably weigh about a ton more when all said and done esp if a loader tractor. You are on 2 different bubbles here on 3 point att. The 5000 easily goes between cat I and cat II att. The 6000 easily goes between cat II and cat III. The M will have slightly better hyd performance although neither unit is pressure or flow compensated so probably not that noticable.
