Morning everyone. I have been looking for another 2 row planter, something a little more robust than the ford 309 we currently have. My dad was crossing a ditch with the 309 and did a number to the packer wheel shaft and bearing housing. I can fix it as I own part of a machine shop but I just wasn稚 that impressed with the 309.
Anyway I found what I think is a Model 51 with an added Covington/Cole side dresser. This thing is in REALLY good shape. Nothing is frozen up, ZERO corrosion in the fertilizer assemble or tubes. Unfortunately I知 in a part of Alabama with very little Ag so finding row planters sitting in the bushes is next to impossible. I really don稚 want to spend more than $800-$1k. I can get this one in that range and will be planting 4-5 acres worth of foodplots, 3 acre dove field and a garden.
This particular planter looks like it痴 more heavy duty. What are y誕ll thoughts.
