model 3225 Electrical problem

Couple weeks ago after mowing, i shut off tractor. hasnt started since, has 12.44 volts @ battery & ignition switch. hop on it push brake turn key: nothing, no dash lights, no crank, nothing!! replaced rectifier & stator last september, started & ran great everytime!! mowed 3 times this sprung & now its dead again......HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

few simple things to chk/do:
1. remove batt - take to qualified shop for a LOAD test.
2. while batt out, chk/clean every start circuit elect connection to bright metal with sandpaper. Don't depend on a visual - some corrosion hard to see. Also clean batt ground wire to chassis connection.
3. make sure you are sitting far enuff back on seat to engage seat switch. Or seat switch bad. Cannot just unhook to defeat - replace.
4. jump large posts at solenoid - if engine tries to crank, may be bad solenoid or ign sw. - troubleshoot/replace.
5. if using such, lose garden hose/power washer - L&G tractors don't tolerate moisture well at all - not designed for such (unlike a car). Use compressed/blown air instead.

12.44 volts is not fully charged - 12.6 volts is. Does the voltage stay at 12.44 while trying to crank it. Some batteries fail internally and will show good voltage until you put a load on it and then drop to almost nothing. Bad cables give similar results. Check the voltage at the starter.
