Sounds great. Photos?

All the best,

Peter
My brother borrowed it last fall and it's still at his place. That reminds me, I'm going to give him a call.

Direct drive? Do you remember which hydraulic motor you used?

It was a chute rotator motor I pulled off an old Woods snow thrower. I don't believe there were any readable markings on it but I'll check when I get the mixer back.

It was fairly low RPM as I recall and I needed a 6" V belt pulley to get the right mixing drum speed. Almost any general purpose motor would work with the right size pulley. A hyd. motor variable speed control could also be used if necessary. The hardest part was fabricating a motor mount that would allow for belt tensioning.

In case nobody noticed, the OP asked his question over 3 years ago.

I remember it.

There is a good video on youtube by Harrol Farms showing how he converted an electric cement mixer to hydraulic power and mounted it to an ssqa plate. He came up with a very logical mount for a small hydraulic motor.

I got rid of my old tow behind mixer years ago. When i was pouring generator pads … up to 4 pads a day at times, i simply used wheelbarrow and a pallet of 60# bags on truck. Cleaning that mixer took me longer than mixing 6 sacks by hand.

Never tried mixing in the bucket…..never will probibly.
