I have a Mitsubishi D2650fd tractor 4x4 with a bad hydraulic pump and apparently this tractor is what they call a grey Mitsubishi.(not much information available) Wondering if anyone could tell me if I can use any other Mitsubishi pump to replace it? The pump is a spline drive. Appreciate any help thank you.

Start by posting a photo of your tractor and pump.

Why do you think pump is bad? There have been instances of a plugged suction filter leading owners to think their pump was bad.

I have takin the pump apart and and inner seal is chewed up pretty good. Also looks like someone tried to fix the seal with glue or something. It worked good since I bought it 6 months ago now front loader and 3 pth nothing. Thanks for reply.

To find a replacement pump measure the mounting pilot diameter.
Count the number of teeth on the shaft as well as measure for approximate diameter. This will provide the mounting information.

Check rotation as viewed looking at the pump drive shaft.

Pressure rating requirement

Operating RPM

To get an estimate on displacement measure the gears.

Port style and location should also be considered.

This should be enough information to find a replacement pump.

Haven't had a chance to take hydraulic pump back off the tractor. The original #on pump is PA6LA360 with an additional # 608 made by Nihon spindle mfg.co.

Contact NCW Tractor Parts, LLC They dont have one listed on their site but I can almost guaranty they have one. They may even have the seal for your old pump.

I also own a Mitsu and found the pump flow to be rather pathetic for FEL action.
My parts manual showed a front crankshaft coupling to drive a lawnmower or whatever via V belts and used an electric clutch.
I purchased the pulley adaptor part, a 3 legged looking thing, and coupled a larger hydraulic pump to it using a flexible joint and fabricated a mount for that larger pump.
That was about 10 years ago and so far no problems at all.

I mention this procedure as you'll find that it is much more economical to buy and adapt a generic pump than a Mitsubishi specific, especially for a grey.
In my case one of the FEL 'posts' was factory designed as a hydraulic reservoir making the modification easy.

NB, my factory pump now serves only for the 3 point and power steering (when I complete that mod)

All this is to say that the crankshaft and pulley was designed to accept driven loads.

I bought the tractor exactly the way you described with aftermarket pump attached to front, it runs the power steering. So I would have to piggyback 2 small pumps off 1 drive shaft. That's the reason I was trying to get original pump or find someone who sells the seals.

Piloon how big of a pump did you use for FEL?

I think rather than adding a second pump piggy backed unto the existing power steering pump is to install one new larger pump to both serve the power steering and your FEL.

What most tractor hydraulic systems which have a main hydraulic pump feeding different important functions like steering, is a priority flow valve which provides a fix amount of the hydraulic pump's output and dedicates it to the power steering.

These briority flow valves are available in a wide range of sizes.
This is a description of how they operate:

Description:
Priority Flow Control Valve
This is an adjustable, pressure compensated, bypass type priority flow control. The flow from the “3” port is pressure compensated which means it will provide a constant flow rate despite variations in system or load pressures. Flow into port “1” greater than the valves set flow rate is diverted out the bypass port “ 2”. If the bypass line carries the fluid to a second load function the flow from port “3” has priority. This means as long as input flow is equal to or higher than valve flow setting, flow from port “3” will remain constant.

Kubota's use these valves, Chinese tractors use these valves.

Thank you. How big a pump would I need for 32 hp compact to run FEL 3ph and power steering?

A Koyker 160 model FEL is rated for tractors where you are right in the middle of the recommended horsepower range.

They recommend a pump with 8 gpm with hydraulic cylinders of 1-3/4" diameter.

The max pressure is around 2,200 psi.

For your tractor, based upon the fact that it has power steering, approx 10 gpm is my suggestion.

Prince Hydraulics makes a priority flow divider pump with a priority flow for say steering and excess flow for other purposes.

My suggestion is that you talk to either Prince or one of their distributors and explain what you need and how best to get the parts required.

Explain the pump is to be driven at engine rpm which is ????? perhaps 2200 rpm.

Priority flow of approx 2.5 gpm and excess flow of approx 8 gpm. Pressure of 2,200 psi
