mitsubishi d1850 lever

I have the above and have a question regarding a lever. It is on the right side directly behind where your heel is. It is pretty heavy duty and seems to go into the transmission sort of behind and under the seat. Can any of you tell me what it is for?? Thanks much, Tom

I think what you are talking about is the diff. lock. I have a D1550 and that is where it's at on mine.
