Mits steering wheel replacement

Wanting to replace the warped/black dry rotted steering wheel on my MT372. Are all the Mitsu center steering wheel shafts universal? Is a puller necessary to remove the wheel?

Good question...to which I have no answer for since my wheel is still all there and have not had to go down that path...yet

I hope someone has an answer. My little girl jumped on mine this morning and before I could get her some gloves her hands were BLACK!

Can't help with the replacement, but you could spray the wheel with clear gloss polyurethane, and it will keep the black stuff on the wheel, and off your hands!

I thought about that and wondered if it would work. I also have some heavy duty 2 inch black nylon tape to wrap it in also.

What about one of them vinyl; steering wheel wraps folks used to put on their steering wheels, that would be a cheap intermediate fix till something more permanent came around.

The plastic is dry and the residue is what is coming off!

Feed the plastic a penetrating liquid that dries hard and you should be OK.

You would first steel wool away excess dry stuff prior to the 'feeding process'.

Think I used ARMORALL once to do that with success, but again it was perhaps laquer.
Even a good quality car wax would be better than nothing as it would 'feed' and dry hard.
I actually wax my wheel from time to time and have no cracks of residues.

Well , I got the old steering wheel off last night. It is in pitiful shape. It has a 36 spline 3/4 taper shaft.

Anyone know who makes a universal replacement wheel?
