I saw a demonstration one time of a steam tractor pulling bottom plows. Men rode on the plow and would manually pull levers to raise the plows up at the end of the furrows. After seeing the demonstration of the Steam Tractor pulling the bottom plows I agree with that statement. It is amazing what our forefathers could do and did do.
