Minimum Shed

I need some advice on minimum outside tractor storage suggestions. Enough to adequately protect a 3203 mountains of Colorado.

Try 4' around the tractor add more if attachment.

Minimum for me would be a tarp over the tractor, tied to concrete blocks to hold the tarp in place.

Regardless of anything else, you probably need to be concerned about snow load.

There are guys on TBN that use containers. They are probably 7' inside width? If your tractor would fit in one it would make excellent storage. No worries about snow load.

I'd say a tarp would be the minimum as mentioned above. If using a tarp, use one that doesn't reach the ground so it allows air flow. After that I would say a metal carport. Then a container, small shed, pole barn, etc etc.

A trap will be cheap and you get what you pay for. Might last a year...maybe less. You will have many hours of pleasure putting it on and taking it off.

A double size carport is less than $2000 installed. Down the road, you can add walls, doors etc if you desire.

As for the absolutely smallest to house your tractor (and I contend that you'd be foolish to make it this small) is 2' on each side for access, 2' at the front and 4' at the rear. If you have an implement attached when it's put in the shed, I'd add the length of the implement plus 2' more. So width of tractor (or widest implement) + 4', and length of tractor + 6', or length of tractor and implement + 8'.

Note: This does not give you much room, about all you'll be able to do is check oil, etc and get on & off.

This cost me $800 in materials. 12x12.. You can do something similar and it be free standing if you put some posts in the ground if you don't have an existing structure to come off of..
