Mini Hoe Project

David I had posted some a month or two ago in the Photo's section called my winter work. Im burning a 2 inch plate out. I burnt a 13 inch circle out of one to make a bearing eat and then I cut a wedge off one corner to go into a frame straightener. Its quirky to use some times as the patterns ahve to be 1/8 th of an inch smaller on each side or larger dependin on inside and out side cuts. I make wire patterns and the tracer wheel follows it. I cut some 4 inch a few weeks ago. I also use it to cut alternator slide brackets and such.

OK. I remember those pictures. But where's the pattern that it is following?

David look under the right lower corner of the control box. It has 2 arms sticking out to hold a pattern. for the wedge it was an angle iron straight edge. Look on the machines Cast iron table and youll see the pattern to the circle I cut out. I usually use 1/4 and 5/16ths wire for my patterns. ive got a few rolls of film here with a set of better views of the machines mechanisms. Its just one toy in an out of control hobby.

That TOOL looks like a "gottahave" to me.

It really is. I do alot of things that require to or three things made like bucket fork hooks, buckets sides backhoe thumbs and grapples. It took 5 hours to layout with a template freehand cut and die grind a set of three bucket fork hooks and the end caps now it takes 35 minutes to put a plate in and cut a set out. the thickest ive cut is 5 inches. Half the capacity. Im building one similar that has a stationary torch with a otating workpiece for cutting out roller drum caps.
If I can find the manual Ill scan some of the pics.

I have been kind of thinking of making an enclosure for mine for the winter, one that I can take off and put on easily. I have got an idea how to make one, but I have been so busy that I haven't got to work on it yet. If I can get that to work then I intend to put a small tray on it to hold some small stuff . I have a light bar on mine with lights to see to back up with if I am working at night and a set of red lights if I have to tram on the road to make it easier for moterists to see it , might save me from getting hit.

Understand the busy part. When things slow down would like to see a picture of your light bar and how you wired it.
